Children

Children are a treasure, no matter what they do

They are a carbon copy, of your mate and you,

They have their days also, their moods how they can change

Just sit with them and talk, help them rearrange.

Confusion's a big problem, that a lot can't understand

Patience is a virtue, help them, offer them a hand,

Love is number one, and love is what they need

Without it they are helpless, and they will not succeed.

Hitting, smacking, beating, are not the thing to do

Think how you would react, if these were done to you,

It makes them more rebellious, they panic and they fear

Speak to them gently, and make sure that they do hear.

Discuss with them their problems, understanding is the key

A hug, a kiss and a cuddle, show them that you see,

It doesn't hurt, I promise you, to hold your child near

It takes away destruction, it shows them not to fear.

So people stop and wonder, what they have in store

To them a day's a lifetime, with many, many more,

Remember they're our future, our roles will turn around

They will rule the way we live, hopefully safe and sound.
